Like all of the east valley, Mesa is an
old farm community that has since turned into one
of the largest cities in Arizona. It is situated
just east of Tempe, South of the Salt River Indian
Community and north of Gilbert and Chandler. Mesa
has been the suburban center of Arizona for many
years and was the first city to truly take that
role with pride. The older parts of Mesa have
great homes that were built in the 1950's-60's and
70's, that have many citrus trees and irrigated
yards. Since then, the farm land has been sold to
developers who have built medium priced homes for
the community. Mesa is still growing today. Many
new homes are being built in the North/North
Eastern part of Mesa towards Red Mountain. The
central and southern side of Mesa are the areas
that have already been developed and hold some of
the great older communities that Mesa has to
offer. |
